Pitchmen will return for a second season on Discovery Channel, partly “as a tribute” to late co-star Billy Mays, the channel said.
Mays, the product hawker behind OxiClean and other sold-on-TV fare, died June 28, putting a second edition of the 12-episode series in jeopardy.
Discovery said it is developing a second-season format with Billy Mays III, Pitchmen co-star Anthony Sullivan and Original Productions CEO Thom Beers. There’s no premiere date for season two yet, and more information will come later, Discovery said.
Discovery Channel on July 24 will re-air Pitchman, a one-hour tribute to Mays, at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
