Tony-award winning Broadway actress Patti Lupone will continue her TV success with a guest-starring role on Showtime's Penny Dreadful. The series, which was recently renewed for a second season, has also named first season guest stars Helen McCrory and Simon Russell Beale as series regulars.
Details as to Lupone's character have yet to be revealed by the network, aside from a statement claiming she will be "of great importance in Vanessa's (Eva Green) past." Additional guest stars for the second season include Sarah Greene, Jonny Beauchamp, and Douglas Hodge, who will portray Scotland Yard investigator Bartholomew Rusk.
Showtime ordered 10 new episodes of the second season, which will also be written by executive producer John Logan. Production will take place in Dublin, Ireland with an expected 2015 network debut.
