No More Sponsorships…Period

FSN’s Best Damn Sports Show Period has closed the door on four sponsorship deals for its coverage leading up to Super Bowl XLII.

FSN advertising officials said the BSSSP Super Bowl Bash, which will be taped daily from Jan. 30 through Feb. 1 at the FBR Open, PGA golf tournament in Phoenix, has sold sponsorship deals to Hooters, Mitsubishi Motors, Keystone Light and GoDaddy.com. Deal terms were not disclosed.

Host Chris Rose, co-hosts John Salley and Rodney Peete and special guest co-host, Olympic gold medalist Amanda Beard, are scheduled to welcome a roster of A-list athletes and celebrities as the Big Game in neighboring Glendale nears.

Hooters, a longtime advertising partner of BDSSP, recently re-upped its pact with the series as part of 25th anniversary promotion. During the Super Bowl preview telecasts, Hooters girls will escort guests to the stage, be showcased in certain segments, and the restaurant chain will gain further exposure via on-air food placements.

Mitsubishi Motors will be a sponsor of BDSSP’s NFC and AFC Media Day coverage, and benefit from a behind-the-scenes feature with John Salley at a Phoenix Suns NBA game. Mitsubishi models will transport all the athletes and celebrities to the set.

The show’s longtime beer sponsor Keystone Light has signed up to present all of the “Smooth Moments” from Super Bowl week.

GoDaddy.com has dual involvement with the show, as spokeswoman Beard serves as a guest host this week and will be featured in a trio of features. She will also be on the scene to cover the HollyRod Foundation’s Best Damn Super Bowl Party.

“Since its inception, Best Damn Sports Show Period has been an industry leader in product integration,” said FSN senior vice president of sales Adam Holzer in a statement. “It continues to be a viable marketplace destination for original, innovative sponsorship opportunities.”
