NFL Network Is Emmy Rookie of the Year
NFL Network became the youngest network to win a Sports Emmy Award.
The National Football League’s cable service, which launched Nov. 4, won the Emmy for the “Outstanding Long Feature” category for its Big Charlie's, which aired Dec. 30.
NFL Films-produced Big Charlie's told the story of a South Philadelphia bar where Kansas City Chiefs fans congregate to watch football, and it featured Dick Vermeil -- former Philadelphia Eagles head coach current coach of the Chiefs -- and his coaching staff arriving at Big Charlie's to surprise Philadelphia's die-hard Chiefs fans.
The network was nominated three times.
