Newman Named Integrated Marketing Director for MTVN Entertainment

Samantha Newman has been appointed director of integrated marketing for MTV Networks’ Entertainment Group, which includes Comedy Central, Spike TV and TV Land and their respective Web sites, as well as the online AtomFilms, AtomUploads, GameTrailers.com and Xfire.

Newman was formerly director of client services, for MTVN’s Brand Solutions Group, and will be based in New York City.

In her new role, Newman will be responsible for integrated marketing strategies and best practices for the entire MTVN Entertainment Group. Her duties will include developing long-term sponsorship strategies, vertical and horizontal to increase national ad sales; building key category pitches; working with the MTVN Entertainment new-business sales team to develop custom opportunities for new sponsors; and teaming with the group’s sales client-planning group formulating strategies and promotions to super-serve key clients.

Prior to joining MTVN, Newman was marketing manager at Bride’s and Modern Bride among others, at Conde Nast Bridal Media. She also has background on the agency side where she was assistant media director on Masterfoods at Mediavest Worldwide, a communications planner on Procter & Gamble and a media strategist at BBDO Worldwide/OMD USA.

Newman holds an MBA from Fordham University Graduate School of Business and earned her BA at the University of Michigan.

In a separate announcement, Rebecca Keszkowski was appointed senior director of integrated marketing of digital for the Spike Digital Entertainment Group, which is comprised of a multi-platform portfolio of brands featuring the Spike.com (recently merged with IFilm.com), GameTrailers.com and Xfire. 

Based in New York City, Keszkowski was formerly Spike TV’s director of integrated marketing.

In her new role, Keszkowski will be responsible for developing and running an integrated marketing team working on convergent and digital-only sponsorships for Spike.com, GameTrailers.com and X-fire. Her focus will be on developing strategies and plans to maximize MTVN Entertainment’s digital offerings to Madison Avenue. She will also interface with marketing teams that manage TVLand.com, ComedyCentral.com and AtomFilms.com for broader, horizontal digital sponsorships.

Keszkowski joined Spike TV in 2003 as manager of promotions marketing from Nickelodeon, where she had been coordinator of promotions marketing. She joined Nickelodeon in 2000, upon graduating from Boston College with a BS degree. She has also attended New York University’s School of Continuing Education.
