New York RSNs Tip Off NBA Playoff Presentations

Many New Yorkers pride themselves on their basketball acumen. On Saturday, they will have the opportunity to demonstrate their interest in the pro game as both local teams open their 2013 NBA playoff campaigns.

ABC will have coverage of Game 1 of the New York Knicks-Boston Celtics battle from Madison Square Garden at 3 p.m., while the YES Network (regionally) and ESPN (nationally) will televise the opener between the Brooklyn Nets and the Chicago Bulls from the Barclays Center at 8 p.m. YES also will provide pre- and post-game shows on April 20.

MSG Network’s Knicks playoffs coverage tips immediately after ABC concludes its broadcast with the Ford Knicks Postgame Show. Knicks' great and recently named Hall of Famer Bernard King will join MSGN's studio crew of Al Trautwig, Bill Pidto, Alan Hahn and Wally Szczerbiak.

The RSN will jump into Knicks’ postseason game coverage with the second and third contests of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals on Tuesday April 23 and Friday April 26, respectively, at 8 p.m. Those telecasts will be bookended by pre- and post-game fare, with Patrick Ewing, the Knicks' Hall of Fame center, scheduled to weigh in with his perspectives following the second contest. After ABC airs Game 4 nationally on Sunday April 28 at 1 p.m., MSGN will carry Games 5 and 6 on May 1 and May 3, respectively, should they be necessary.

The second game of Nets-Bulls series will run on local broadcast station, WWOR, My9, on April 22, as YES will air the New York Yankees game against Tampa that night. YES will deliver Nets’ post-game coverage following the RSN’s wrap-up of the Bronx Bombers' battle versus Tampa on Monday night.
