While the game action is the province of national carriers, SNY is providing New York Jets fans unprecedented access to the team with a comprehensive slate of information programming.
The regional sports network, which extended its television and marketing partnership with the NFL franchise, presents Jets Game Plan on Thursday nights. Hosted by Steve Overmyer and analyst Greg Buttle, Jets Game Plan is a 30-minute preview show where analysts, coaches and players give an in-depth look ahead at the week's upcoming match-up, with coach Rex Ryan and quarterback Mark Sanchez. In week two of the NFL's 2009-10 season, the Jets host the New England Patriots.
Back for a fourth straight season, Jets Post Game Live, now features exclusive on-field interviews with key Jets players immediately following each game. The program also has priority access to the locker room, including coach Ryan's closed-door address to the team. The show features former Jets QB Ray Lucas, NFL insider Adam Schein, Overmyer and host Brian Custer.
On Tuesdays, the weekly Jets Extra Point breaks the previous week's game. Host Brian Custer is flanked by Lucas and Buttle.
A number of Jets players are also involved with SNY's pro football coverage. Defensive tackle Kris Jenkins will debate SNY's Loud Mouths, Chris Carlin and Adam Schein, every Thursday at 6 p.m. For his part, linebacker Bart Scott goes one-on-one with host Gary Apple on Geice SportsNite Tuesdays at 10 p.m. as they discuss the latest Gang Green developments.
Safety Kerry Rhodes becomes a member of The WheelHouse Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m., along with Brian Custer and Brandon Tierney, while offensive tackle becomes a member of Daily News Live on Thursdays at 10 p.m., when he discusses the squad with Jonas Schwartz, Joe Benigno and a panel of the newspapers' writers.
A New York Giant is also in SNY's house: running back Brandon Jacobs talks with Apple on Geico SportsNite on Thursdays.
