Netflix has signed former‘The View executive producer Bill Wolff to helm its upcoming Chelsea Handler talk show project.
Wolff, who earlier this week left the ABC’s talk show, will serve as executive producer of Handler’s new talk show set to debut in 2016, said network officials. The series, which will feature former E! star Handler’s unfiltered opinions on topical entertainment, will be filmed in Los Angeles.
“Bill is the visionary we have been looking for to create a dynamic new format that’s global, informative and entertaining,” said Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos in a statement. “He brings new creativity and fresh conversations to the talk show format that the on-demand generation and Chelsea’s audience will care about.”
Prior to his The View post, Wolff was Vice President of Primetime Programming at MSNBC from 2005-2014 where he created and executive produced The Rachel Maddow Show, said network officials.
