NESN Ready To Hand Out 'Pocket Money'

NESN is looking to hand out a little Pocket Money.
The regional sports network, home to Boston Red Sox and Bruins games, will begin production on 20 half-hour episodes of new original trivia series, Pocket Money.
The series, led by Boston super fan Paul "Paul "Fitzy" Fitzgerald as portrayed by comedian Nick Stevens, will feature the host asking sports enthusiasts questions in public settings like Boston Common, city streets, college campuses and Fenway Park. Correct answers to the New England sports trivia questions will gain the participants pocket money in $5, $10 and $20 increments.
This multiplatform Original NESN Entertainment program will include a dedicated interactive section on NESN.com.
"We are committed to developing diverse and locally focused programming for the network and our Web site," said Joel Feld, NESN's executive vice president of programming and executive producer, in a statement. "Each episode will include unique opportunities for sponsors to interact directly with our fans and our content. We like this engaging and fun concept and believe that it will bring out the competitive spirit in fans of New England sports."
One such sponsor that has already signed on is Yankee Spirits, New England's liquor store. Fitzy is scheduled to be at the Yankee Spirits store in Swansea, Mass. on June 17 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., looking for sports fans that have what it takes to pocket some cash courtesy of the RSN.
