NCC Elevates Schaefer To CEO

Spot cable ad firm National Cable Communications has named Greg Schaefer CEO.

Schaefer has been COO since November 2002 and president since January 2004.

NCC, with 16 offices and over 500 employees, is jointly owned by the top three cable operators, Comcast, Time Warner Cable and Cox. It represents a virtual who's who of operators, including Bresnan, Bright House, Cablevision, Charter, Insight, Mediacom, and Suddenlink.

Schaefer spent two decades at CBS, including heading up Viacom Station Sales and running WCBS-TV New York, before moving to the cable side.

The CEO title has been open since Tom Olsen left at end of 2003, according to Schaefer.
