MTV: Music Television will debut reality-TV parody The Assistant, featuring Andy Dick, July 12 at 10:30 p.m. (EST/PST), the network said Thursday.
During the eight-episode series, 12 potential assistants endure Dick’s daily-life tasks and outlandish demands. The final contestant not eliminated for not “working it” on the catwalk, among other reasons, will receive a job at a Hollywood entertainment-production company, a brand-new car and a new wardrobe, the network said.
“We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Andy Dick,” executive vice president of MTV series entertainment Lois Curren said in a prepared statement.
“The Assistant is a perfect fit for Andy’s type of comedy and personality,” she added. “Andy has had a long-standing relationship with our viewers and continues to creatively connect with them.”
