MTV to Bring Viewers ‘the Future’

MTV: Music Television will be a key part of Quincy Jones’ “We Are the World” sequel.

The network and Yahoo! Inc. (www.yahoo.com) will serve as the international broadcast partners for the “We Are the Future” benefit concert, to be held in Rome May 16.
The global concert marks the launch of a worldwide humanitarian effort to help children in war-ravaged cities.
All 42 MTV channels globally will air We Are the Future, along with XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc.

It will air on MTV in the United States May 28 at 8 p.m.Among those scheduled to appear are Jay-Z, Eve, Norah Jones, Alicia Keys, Josh Groban, Juanes, Andrea Bocelli, Herbie Hancock, Zucchero, Youssou N’Dour, the casts of Stomp and Cirque du Soleil, Take 6, Angelique Kidjo, Carmen Consoli, Karina, Kazem Al Sahir, Khaled, Noa, Rifat Salamat Ali Khan, Simon Shaheen, Tarkan and Soundz of South Africa.
Celebrity presenters include Oprah Winfrey, Angelina Jolie, Muhammad Ali, Naomi Campbell, Chris Tucker, Pele, Totti and Serena Williams.
