‘Monday Night RAW’ Fans Share First $1 Million Giveaway
Eight viewers tuning into Monday’s edition of USA Networks’ Monday Night RAW collected portions—small and large—of $1 million in cash given away by WWE Chairman Vince McMahon in the first round of what the network is calling “McMahon’s Million Dollar Mania.”
McMahon and other WWE stars—featured in this online photo gallery—announced the promotional campaign during a press conference last week at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
The promotion was announced one week after Monday Night RAW earned one of its lowest ratings, on May 26, in the series' history.
McMahon said he will continue giving away $1 million of his own money for “as long as I like.” In order to cash in, viewers had to tune in and be by their phones to receive the lucky call from McMahon.
This week’s winners included:
-- Daniel Crummett, 24, from 29 Palms, Calif., the promotion’s first winner, who answered the call and will receive $200,000.
-- Justin Guy, 26, of Greenville, Tenn. was the second winner in McMahon's Million Dollar Mania, receiving $75,000 of Vince McMahon's cash.
