Mo’Nique Is Lifetime’s Queen for a Day

Lifetime Television’s Queen for a Day Monday, May 24 at 8 p.m. EST/PST will be crowned by none other than comedic actress Mo’Nique (The Parkers, It’s Showtime at the Apollo), the network said Monday.

The special -- based on original daytime series Queen for a Day, which was hosted by Jack Bailey and aired from 1956-65 on NBC and later on ABC -- features people trying to convince a panel that their mother, sister, friend, co-worker, or other acquaintance should be Queen for a Day.

"Mo’Nique has such a fun and lively personality," Lifetime Entertainment Services senior vice president of reality programming Bill Brand said in a prepared statement. "Her quick wit will add a wonderful dimension to the show."
