McCormick Joins ReelzChannel Executive Management Board

ReelzChannel named former Lifetime Television president and veteran new-media executive Doug McCormick vice chairman of the network’s executive management board, officials said Tuesday.

He joins board members Stanley E. Hubbard, CEO of ReelzChannel; Gary Thorne, president and COO; and Bernie Weiss, executive vice president of finance and administration.

McCormick is currently non-executive chairman of LIN TV and a Venture partner with Rho Ventures, a division of Rho Capital Partners, where his primary focus is on investments in the media sector. With venture funds under management exceeding $1 billion, Rho Ventures has been backing venture-stage companies in the U.S. since its inception in 1981.

McCormick has forged a 25-plus year track record of entertainment, broadcast and new media success, including serving as CEO and Chairman of the Board, of iVillage.

In May 2006, he completed the sale of iVillage to NBC Universal for $611 million dollars. In building iVillage, McCormick engineered the merger of two public companies, iVillage and Women.com Networks.

He served six years as president and CEO of Lifetime, and also held executive positions with Samuel Goldwyn Co., Cable Health Network, Petry Television and KCOP-TV in Los Angeles.
