MavTV has picked up a trio of auto-enthusiast shows that previously aired on Speed, which was converted to Fox Sports 1 in August.
The independent network, which has revved up its auto focus again with Speed's transformation to a general sports service, has acquired the rights to Stacey David’s Gearz, My Classic Car and Chop Cut Rebuild, with encore episodes bowing on MavTV this month. New installments from the three series are slated to debut on MavTV, which has added a quartet of new affiliates in recent weeks, in March.
Stacey David’s Gearz covers all things mechanical, featuring makeovers and transformations, plus tips and tricks for daily drivers to gain power and performance from their vehicles. It airs on MavTV on Fridays at 9 p.m. (ET).
Hosted by Dennis Gage at 6 p.m. on Fridays, My Classic Car takes a deeper look at beloved classic cars, including the normal daily drivers from local cruise-ins to the most prestigious and expensive vintage vehicles.
Chop Cut Rebuild follows host Dan Woods as he reveals what it takes to be a custom classic car builder and steer past deadlines, roadblocks and unexpected turns. Chop Cut Rebuild airs Fridays at 6:30 p.m.
“MavTV is quickly becoming the must-have network for former Speed fans and anyone who loves cars,” said MavTV president Bob Patison in announcing the acquisition. “We are thrilled to provide a wide variety of programming for motor enthusiasts, and Stacey David’s Gearz, My Classic Car and Chop Cut Rebuild are perfect additions to an already solid lineup on MavTV.”
Continuing its affiliate expansion, MavTV inked deals with four National Cable Television Co-operative members in recent weeks: Beaver Valley Cable in Rome, Penn.; GTA TeleGuam in Guam; Baldwin Cablevision in Baldwin, Iowa; and Chatmoss Cablevision in Danville, Virginia.
With these new signings, MavTV has added 19 new affiliates since Aug. 1.
