Lifetime to Produce Toni Braxton Bio Film

Lifetime will produce an original movie on the life of Grammy Award-winning singer Toni Braxton, the network said Tuesday.

Braxton will serve as executive producer of the movie, Un-Break My Heart, which is based on Braxton’s popular memoir, according to Lifetime. The film will chronicle Braxton’s rise to fame as she struggled through a severe chronic illness, financial troubles and divorce while navigating her son’s autism and her own family struggles. Braxton -- who co-stars in WEtv’s reality series The Braxton Family Values -- will appear in the film, which begins production later this year.

Vondie Curtis-Hall (Abducted: The Carlina White Story) will direct the film, and Craig Baumgarten (Twist of Faith) Erik Kritzer (The Runaround) and Marcus Grant will serve as executive producers, according to Lifetime.
