Lifetime Greenlights Scripted Thriller Series ‘You’

Lifetime has given a straight-to-series greenlight to a new scripted psychological thriller You, the network said Thursday.

The 10-episode series is based on Caroline Kepnes’ best selling novel and is centered around a bookstore manager’s obsession with an aspiring writer and his willingness to do whatever it takes to get to her, said network officials.

You is produced by Berlanti Productions and Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Scripted Television, with Greg Berlanti, Sera Gamble, Sarah Schechter, Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo serving as executive producers.

“You is the most twisted love story ever,” said Liz Gateley, executive vice president and head of programming for Lifetime in a statement. “A romantic thriller centered around a relationship between two people that gets taken too far, the series explores the line between passion and obsession. In the amazingly talented hands of Greg and Sera, we know this project will be special.”
