Lifetime Enters VOD Mix

Lifetime Television will launch its first-ever video-on-demand service to approximately 10 million Comcast subscribers Tuesday.

Lifetime On Demand will include full-length episodes of new series such as comedy Lovespring International and reality show Cheerleader Nation, along with other series from the network’s library such as Intimate Portrait, What Should You Do? and Speaking of Women’s Health.

The VOD service will also offer exclusive short-form programming not shown on linear channels on series such as Angela’s Eyes, Cheerleader Nation and Lovespring International.

“We’re delighted to partner with Comcast, which has been one of the industry leaders in providing a wide range of entertainment platforms for their customers,” Lifetime Entertainment Services president of distribution and affiliate business development Louise Henry Bryson said in a prepared statement.

“Our launch coincides with the rollout of many new Lifetime series, and we’ve decided to make this next generation of Lifetime programming the centerpiece of our Lifetime On Demand service to give viewers another vehicle for discovering and enjoying our new programming,” she added.
