Liberty Media bought a controlling stake in the second-largest retailer of outdoor gear, Utah-based Backcountry.com.
“We look forward to driving collaboration among Backcountry and its world-class outdoor brands and Liberty's existing e-commerce and television companies," Liberty Media senior vice president Michael Zeisser said in a prepared statement.
Backcountry.com boasted sales of $82 million last year, according to the company, second only to REI.com in outdoor-merchandise sales.
The Liberty Interactive Entertainment division of Denver-based Liberty expected to complete the transaction by June.
