Layer3 TV, the Denver-based next-gen cable operator, has hired industry vet Gregg Grigaitis to the post of chief product officer.
Grigaitis, who will head a team that oversees Layer3 TV’s product strategy, product management and overall product development, most recently was with Suddenlink Communications, the MSO now owned by Altice USA. At Suddenlink Grigaitis played a big role in rolling out products like TV Caller ID, a TiVo-powered video product, SuddenLink2Go and the MSO’s ConnectedHome Security platform.
Grigaitis previously was SVP of product and business development at Broadbus Technologies, the VOD server/tech company acquired by Motorola in 2006 and founded by current Layer3 TV CEO Jeff Binder. Prior to that, Grigaitis was director of GuestServe and Movie Products at SeaChange International.
Grigaitis reports to Binder and will be based at the Layer3 TV headquarters in Denver.
Layer3 TV currently offers service in the Washington, D.C., metro and in the Chicagoland markets, with Denver on deck.
“Gregg joining Layer3 TV is not just a win for our customers, as he will pour his 25 years of experience into phenomenal products, but also a win for our company, which strives to attract the top talent in the industry,” Binder said in a statement. “I’ve personally worked with Gregg for many years and I know he is devoted to creating the best products in the cable ecosystem. Gregg will be a huge asset in developing and executing the goals on our product roadmap.”
“What excited me about Layer3 TV, was the incredible team Jeff has built, and also the company culture that is laser focused on building products that put customers first,” added Grigaitis. “I am excited to be able to contribute to Layer3 TV as it aggressively scales a remarkable service.”
