June 24 Deadline for Charter Payouts

Charter Communications Inc. has set a June 24 deadline for shareholders looking to claim their portions of the $144 million the MSO will pay to settle lawsuits, AP reported.

The MSO announced the settlement of the suits -- filed over its federally investigated accounting practices -- in August. The settlement applies to shareholders who bought stock between Nov. 8, 1999-Aug. 16, 2002, according to AP.

AP reported that shareholders seeking part of the settlement must file a proof of claim and release form by June 24, and those looking to be excluded from the case have until April 29 to apply to do so.

Charter will pay out $144 million, with an additional $2.25 million coming from the MSO’s former accounting firm, Arthur Andersen LLP, according to AP.
