JLTV Gets Maccabiah Games

Jewish Life Television has acquired the exclusive international television rights to the 19th World Maccabiah Games, the second largest international sports competition in the world, network founder and CEO Phil Blazer said.

The games will take place in Israel July 16-30, 2013. The venues for the competition are located throughout the country and are assigned by sport.

Five-year-old JLTV will air live coverage of the opening and closing ceremonies as well as daily highlights of the many events that take place during the monumental event. The network also carried the most recent Maccabiah Games in 2009.

"The Maccabiah is more than an international athletic competition, it is also celebration of Jewish unity and pride. All participants have a life-enriching experience through the arena of sports," Blazer said in a release. "JLTV is honored to once again be the international television home of the Maccabiah Games."

In the past 12 months JLTV has posted a 50% increase in distribution, driving JLTV's availability to 33 million U.S. cable and satellite households. For the World Maccabiah Games, JLTV will also be seen in over 80 million households across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. JLTV is planning to launch a high definition feed in 2012.
