WHY WE'RE WATCHING: The affiliate sales veteran helped ring up some big carriage gains for Fox Cable Networks Group over the years, and is now leading the charge for Hallmark Channel. Can she drive the independent to full distribution from its current level of 67 million?
SCORE ON 2004: “Hallmark Channel had its best year to date. The network increased its subscriber count by nearly 11 million, the largest gain by any network from January 2004 to January 2005. Spurred by original movies, Hallmark Channel saw its highest quarter, month, week, day and telecast in its history, to rank among the top 10 cable networks for the entire year. Additionally, the channel reached a record 47 million subscribers with its 'Hollywood Holiday Sweepstakes.' We launched the newest gem, Hallmark Movie Channel.”
WHAT'S NEXT:“Our goals include accelerating distribution for the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel. Also, we want to continue to be a valued partner by expanding on the promotional success and extending distributors access to Hallmark Gold Crown Stores' holiday retail traffic to drive their RGU objectives. We're also looking to establish a literacy cause initiative.”
DRIVE IN 2005: “Hallmark Channel is offering an ambitious programming slate in 2005, including a Friday night 'Mystery Movie Franchise,' which consists of at least twelve original mystery movies, centered on three distinct characters.”
EXECUTIVE EVOLUTION: “I don't believe in the glass ceiling, because the best and most qualified person should get the job. I've been fortunate to enjoy multiple promotions over the years, and my career has not been limited because I'm a woman.”
