Ion Hires Holloway As President Of Distribution

Ion Media Networks has hired cable television veteran Doug Holloway to head up its distribution efforts.

In the newly created position of president of multi channel distribution, Holloway, the longtime affiliate chief of USA Network, will oversee the distribution efforts for Ion Television and its diginets qubo, and Ion Life.

Holloway, most recently the president of NBC's Network Distribution Partnerships and Affiliate Marketing, as well as president of NBCUniversal's Cable Investments, will oversee the programmer's cable, satellite and telco partner relationships, reporting to Ion Media Network chairman and CEO Brandon Burgess.

Based in New York City, Holloway will have oversight of a multi-location distribution team across the United States, including multichannel sales staff. He will also increase Ion's involvement and representation in a variety of television distribution trade and marketing organizations.

"Having someone of Doug's caliber and experience on our team is important, as we look to expand our positive relations with cable, satellite, and telco distributors," stated Burgess. "Doug is widely known and respected in the distribution marketplace for his ability to build mutually beneficial long term TV relationships."

Noted Holloway: "Ion's momentum in programming and ratings speaks for itself. Reaching top 10 network status in record time after three straight years of double-digit growth since launch, we have provided distributors and consumers with one of the most dynamic television turnaround stories in recent memory. This makes the distribution position exciting and I look forward to getting to work."
