IFC Greenlights Comedy Series 'Garfunkel & Oates'

IFC has greenlit a new original series Garfunkel & Oates the network announced Monday.

The series, set to debut in 2014, features the female comedy-folk duo Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci (pictured), said network officials.

“We are huge fans of Riki and Kate; their humor is fresh and accessible and they’ll be a great fit alongside The Spoils of Babylon, Portlandia, Maron and other shows on the horizon,” said Jennifer Caserta, IFC’s president and general manager in a statement.

The network has also ordered a pilot for a second comedy American Storage, which follows a friendship between a storage facility employee and a man living in one of the empty units.  Additionally, IFC has entered into a first-look deal with podcast network Earwolf and is currently developing a comedy project with writer/producer Rolin Jones (Friday Night Lights, Weeds, Boardwalk Empire).

“Everyone we work with shares our sensibility and passion for creating authentic comedies, and these new relationships will further complement our expanding roster of original programming,” said Caserta.
