General Mills will use AMC’s“Hollywood Icon” month-long programming event to push its Honey Nut Cheerios cereal.
The network said Hollywood Icon “showcases one of Hollywood’s most acclaimed actors through their movies, factoids, celebrity quotes and special vignettes about the star.”
The Honey Nut Cheerios brand will be incorporated on-air in tagged tune-ins prior to the first airing of the movies that premiere under the block, as well as on image spots, commercial units and billboards, the two parties said.
July’s Hollywood Iconwill feature Jack Nicholson in movies including Batman, Easy Rider, Hoffa and the network premiere of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. August’s subject is Marilyn Monroe, and upcoming subjects include John Wayne, Al Pacino, Jimmy Stewart and Kevin Costner.
