History will develop an additional 20 episodes of its competition series Forged In Fire as the series continues to post strong ratings, according to network officials.
The series, in which talented bladesmiths test their mettle as they create many of history’s most iconic edged weapons, posted double-digit ratings increases during the first 10 episodes of its third season among adults 18-49 (11%) and adults 25-54 (13%), according to network officials. Overall the series averaged 1.58 million viewers (Nielsen Live +3 ratings), making season three the show’s most watched season, according to network officials.
“At a time when the television landscape is as crowded as it has ever been we are proud to celebrate the success of Forged In Fire as it continues to showcase ratings growth from season to season,” said Paul Cabana, Executive Vice President and Head of Programming of History in a statement. “The viewer response is a true testament to the series’ ability to showcase the ingenuity and spirit needed to bring this ancient craft to life each week.”
