HGTV Salutes Makeovers Of Veterans' Group Homes On Nov. 11

Two veterans' group homes will receive complete makeovers in HGTV's one-hour special Change the World: American Heroes.
Premiering on Veteran's Day, Nov. 11, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT), the special will show Windsor Transitional House in St. Louis and a facility located in Philadelphia, which were selected by online vote as part of the network's community revitalization and environmental awareness initiative "HGTV Change the World," undergoing facelifts.

Host and carpenter Carter Oosterhouse, along with designer Monica Pedersen and volunteers from campaign partner Rebuilding Together, the nation's largest nonprofit organization working to preserve affordable home ownership, will tackle the total home makeovers to provide residents with new and improved living spaces.
Additional campaign partners include the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Natural Resources Defense Council.
"Veterans who have served our country and now find themselves in need often turn to group homes like these to find a supportive environment," said HGTV president Jim Samples in a statement. "It is our goal to honor the current and future residents of these homes by creating calm, well-designed and functional spaces that improve their living situation and recognize their years of military service."
