HGTV Renews ‘Myles of Style’

HGTV picked up Myles of Style for a second season, officials said Monday.

Designer and host Kim Myles, who captured America’s vote to become the season two winner of HGTV Design Star, puts her unique spin on design and décor to transform lackluster spaces into beautifully-designed rooms.

Viewers also can visit the show's Web site to see Myles in an exclusive podcast and a weekly video blog where she answers viewers’ questions and provides decorating tips and ideas.

Episodes from the series’ second season will begin airing in July and Myles will continue to arrive on homeowners’ doorsteps with her signature shopping bags filled with goodies for the room makeover, including rich fabric swatches and extraordinary decor items.

In addition, she will continue to create glamorous pieces from ordinary materials, using techniques that viewers can easily replicate. For example, in one early episode she transformed wall art into a dramatic ceiling medallion or added inexpensive gold stickers to enhance a plain coffee table.

“Kim’s keen eye for design and her ability to create fantastic décor with unexpected materials have resonated with our viewers” James Bolosh, HGTV’s vice president of event programming, said in a prepared statement. “Her winning personality and easy design style have made Myles of Style a hit with the HGTV audience since its mid-March premiere.”
