here! TV Gets Paradise Falls

Gay- and lesbian-targeted here! TV acquired the rights to the first two seasons of a gay-themed soap opera.

The network said Thursday that it now has exclusive U.S. broadcast rights to Paradise Falls, from Canadian producer and distributor Breakthrough Entertainment.

The show -- which here! described as a “gripping dramatic serial about a picturesque small town that looks like paradise, but beneath the beautiful landscape lurk secrets, danger and intrigue” -- debuted on Canada’s Showcase in 2001.

“We're delighted to acquire the amazing gay-themed soap opera, Paradise Falls,” here! executive vice president of acquisitions and distribution Mark Reinhart said in a prepared statement. “We are sure our audience will eagerly tune in to watch the characters unfold every month on here!.”
