HBO will distribute a Nov. 19 fight between light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev and undefeated former champion Andre Ward, the network announced Saturday.
The fight, announced after Ward defeated Alexander Brand during HBO’s live World Championship Boxing telecast, will pit Ward (30-0), the former super middleweight champion, against the Kovalev (30-0-1), the International Boxing Federation, World Boxing Organization and World Boxing Association light heavyweight champion.
The event will be the network’s second officall PPV event scheduled this fall following the Sept. 17 Canelo Alvarez-Liam “Beefy” Smith fight card. The network is also discussing a potential PPV fight featuring Manny Pacquiao.
