HBO Sets Seventh Season For ‘Game Of Thrones'

HBO gave Game Of Thrones fans an early gift by greenlighting a seventh season of the fantasy series days before its sixth season premiere on Sunday.

Game Of Thrones, which is coming off a record-setting 2015 Emmy Awards performance in which the series won 12 statuettes including best drama series, will return in 2017, but network officials would not say how many episodes will be developed for its seventh season.

The tech-based dramedy series Silicon Valley will return for a fourth season in 2017, while the sixth season of the Julia Louis-Dreyfus-starrer Veep will also return next year, according to HBO. Both series will return for new sesaons this Sunday.
