The surf’s up again for David Milch at HBO.
Production will begin in November on John from Cincinnati, the latest series entry from the creator of the premium channel’s profane Western drama Deadwood.
Set in Southern California, John from Cincinnati tells the story of a dysfunctional surfing family’s encounter with American culture and commerce. HBO ordered 12 episodes, the first of which will bow next summer.
“David Milch is one of the most original storytellers working in any format today,” HBO Entertainment president Carolyn Strauss said in a prepared statement. “We are honored to have him as part of the HBO family. The sky is the limit for his new series.”
