HBO, LeBron James Team for Unscripted Series

HBO has teamed with LeBron James to develop a new unscripted series The Shop, the network said Thursday.

The series, created by James and Maverick Carter through their digital media company Uninterrupted, will premiere Aug. 28 and will offer unfiltered conversation and debate with some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment that will air periodically throughout the year, according to the network.

Among the athletes and celebrities appearing on the first show are Snoop Dogg, Odell Beckham Jr., Draymond Green, Jon Stewart and Candace Parker.

“LeBron James told us he wanted to create a place where athletes and artists can come together to share points of view freely,” said Peter Nelson, executive VP for HBO Sports in a statement. “We are honored they want HBO to be the home of that conversation. We are pleased to partner with LeBron, Maverick Carter and Uninterrupted on The Shop.”
