Gospel Music Channel Televises Dove Awards

The Gospel Music Channel will become the TV home for the 2007 GMA Dove Awards next month.

Taped earlier this year in Nashville, Gospel will air the Dove awards on Nov .10, with repeat airings scheduled throughout the month, according the network. Hosted by Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell and Christian music stars Natalie Grant and Donnie McClurkin, the 38th GMA Annual Dove Awards paid homage to the best in gospel and Christian music.

The GMA Dove Awards originally aired May and June in syndication on individual broadcast channels, but Gospel said its telecast will reach markets such as Boston, Dallas, Atlanta, Houston, Tampa, Seattle, Phoenix, Minneapolis, Cleveland, Miami and Denver where the show did not air.

The two-hour show will feature musical performances from such stars as Chris Tomlin, Aaron Shust, tobyMac, Mandisa, Kirk Franklin, Take 6, the Caravans, The Crabb Family with Jonathan Butler, MercyMe, Stellar Kart, Kirk Whalum, Littrell, Steven Curtis Chapman, DecembeRadio, Family Force 5, Leeland, Red and Brian Free & Assurance.
