Google Earth Gets More Discovery

Discovery Communications said it expanded the amount of content Google Earth (earth.google.com) users can receive, adding more than 150 video segments for destinations ranging from Atlanta to Zimbabwe.

Google Earth allows Web surfers to seemingly fly from destination to destination worldwide and even zoom in on local buildings and roads. When Discovery and Google first announced a partnership in April, Discovery supplied video content for Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore and eight other national parks that Web surfers could access while viewing the sites on Google Earth.

Discovery said its expanded content offering on Google Earth includes 48 world landmarks, American and European cities and African locations

Separately, Discovery said Wednesday that it is now selling DVD titles through Amazon.com’s new Unbox online store (www.multichannel.com/article/CA6373511.html).
