Golf Channel's Botelho To Be Honored At NECTA Convention

Golf Channel senior director of engineering Ken Botelho will be acknowledged by the New England Cable & Telecommunications Association during its annual convention on July 16.

Botelho, who has more than 35 years of industry experience, will receive NECTA's chairman's award for Lifetime Achievement of Excellence in Television Production at the organization's gala event in Newport, R.I. on July 16. The award is meant to be an inspiration for those in the audience who had similar starts coming up through the ranks of the cable industry.

Botelho joined Golf last January 2009, helping the service's migration to the high- definition platform. The Comcast owned network reaches 90 million viewers worldwide.

He joined Comcast in February 2003 as general manager of CN8 New England and was them promoted to vice president of engineering and network operations with responsibility for the-then entire multi-regional network.
The 2009 NECTA Convention & Exhibition is being held from July 15 through July 17 at the Newport Marriott.
