ESPN2, Sierra Mist Ready for Freddy

ESPN2 will air a series of 30-second spots on 15-year-old Major League Soccer star Freddy Adu along with the league’s official soft drink and sponsor, Pepsi-Cola North America’s Sierra Mist.

“The Sierra Mist Rookie Album” will air on ESPN2 Saturdays throughout the MLS season, and will also appear on the soft drink’s Web site (

The first vignette, debuting during the D.C. United-Dallas Burn match Saturday at 4 p.m. (EST), highlights Adu's journey from the 2004 MLS Super Draft; his preparation, introduction and performance in his first game; and his first road trip and first goal versus the New York/New Jersey MetroStars; and ends with a unique "Freddy Adu Sierra Mist Moment."
