ESPN Sets Marathon College Hoops Tip-Off
Football season’s barely under way but ESPN is already making big plans for its college basketball coverage this season, starting with 23 consecutive hours of live hoops starting at midnight ET on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
The College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon will include 14 live games and more than 33 total hours of coverage on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU, including 23 straight hours of live college basketball and studio programming.
The action tips off with a tripleheader of live games including Massachusetts at Memphis, Fresno State at St. Mary’s and Idaho State at Hawaii. The Memphis-UMass games starts at midnight ET with the other two games tipping off at 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. ET, respectively.
Its College GameDay show will originate from Chapel Hill, N.C., site of the Kentucky-North Carolina game at 8 p.m. ET followed by the game at 9 p.m. ET.
ESPN officials said it will include a game in each of the five different U.S. time zones and feature teams from 14 different conferences.
