E! Adds Levitt As Executive Producer For Net's 'Live From The Red Carpet' Franchise

Veteran award show and event specials producer Michael Levitt has been named executive producer of E!'s long-running "Live from the Red Carpet" franchise.

Hosted by Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic, Live from the Red Carpet is the ultimate pre-show extravaganza for all major televised entertainment award shows, and is one of E!'s most-recognized and highest-rated programming events, airing in more than 160 countries around the world.

Levitt, whose credits include an Emmy nomination for the fifth season of Bravo's Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List,

and The Michanel Jackson Memorial Service in 2009, will begin his E! duties with the Comcast-owned network's presentation of the first of the 2011 awards season, Live from the Red Carpet: The Golden Globes, airing Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011.

"We're excited to have Michael on board and value his strong industry relationships and his innovative thinking in helping us create fresh and exciting moments for our loyal red carpet viewers," said Kevin MacLellan, president, Comcast International Media Group and Comcast Entertainment Productions, in announcing the hire.

Levitt also serves as executive producer of the upcoming specials Ask Oprah's All Stars for OWN:  Oprah Winfrey Network premiering in January 2011 from Mark Burnett Productions. Levitt is also credited with co-creating The TV Land Awards for TV Land and The Scream Awards for Spike TV.
