EchoStar Communications Corp.’s Dish Network will offer Univision Communications Inc.’s local programming via satellite in Puerto Rico, the two companies announced Thursday.
Univision said its WLII is the No. 1-rated television station in Puerto Rico, currently maintaining a 37% share of the viewing audience.
“By offering Univision Puerto Rico's unique blend of the highest-quality locally produced programming with the best international offerings on Dish Network, EchoStar will provide its customers in Puerto Rico with the most popular Spanish-language programming available,” WLII/WSUR president and general manager Larry Sands said in a prepared statement.
