Dish, NPG Reach Retrans Agreement
By Mike Farrell
published Dish Network and News-Press Gazette said they have reached a multi-year retransmission consent agreement, avoiding a blackout of the broadcaster’s 16 stations in seven states.
Dish’s retrans pact with NPG originally expired on Feb. 23, but the broadcaster granted extensions to the deal as negotiations continued. A deal was struck on Feb. 26, avoiding a blackout of NPG’s channels. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
On its station websites, NPG left a terse message that the deal was reached: “We’ve reached an agreement with Dish. Thank You for your patience.”
