Discovery Kids Channel inked a deal for Big Tent Entertainment to become its licensing agency of record.
Under the long-term pact, Big Tent will represent such animated Discovery Kids properties as Growing Up Creepie, Kenny the Shark and Tutenstein, as well as live-action series Endurance, Flight 29 Down and Trading Spaces: Boys vs. Girls, among others.
In addition, the agreement calls for Big Tent to spearhead licensing activities for the Ready Set Learn! preschool block that airs on both Discovery Kids and sister service TLC.
“Big Tent’s branding, marketing and licensing experience makes them a perfect partner to have on board for Discovery Kids,” said Majorie Kaplan, president and general manager of Animal Planet and Discovery Kids Media, in a prepared statement. “We are excited to work with them to extend our business into the licensing arena and provide kids and families with innovative products that will delight them and satisfy their curiosity about the world.”
