Discovery International Going Batties

Rebecca Batties has joined Discovery Networks International in the newly created position of senior vice president, creative development and brand management.
Batties had been heading a television- and Internet-consulting firm with a range of clients including MTV Russia and Japan.
In her new role, she will be responsible for defining programming strategy for Discovery’s 10 international networks; identifying programs and developing program formats that are portable throughout the world; and directing branding and positioning efforts for the channels.
She will also work with DNI’s regional programming executives to strengthen the networks’ programming through local commissions and acquisition.
