Leonard J. Tacconi was named president of Discovery Health Media Enterprises, a subsidiary of Discovery Communications.
He will oversee strategic, operational and financial management of Discovery Health Media, which includes Discovery Health Channel, FitTV, Discovery Health’s Web site (www.discoveryhealth.com), Discovery Health’s Continuing Medical Education business and new video-on-demand service Discovery Health On-Call.
Tacconi comes from pharmaceutical company Merck, where he was executive director of corporate marketing. He also led Merck’s U.S. consumer-marketing, physician-marketing, business-technology, external-corporate-communication and publishing functions.
