DirecTV to Stream More Live NFL Games on Sunday Ticket

DirecTV has expanded its NFL Sunday Ticket streaming package for college students to 2- and 4-year institutions, as well as making the service available on more devices like Apple TV.

For the first time, DirecTV said students at 2-and 4-year colleges can stream out of market NFL games via NFLSUNDAYTICKET.TV U, for $24.99 per month for four months.

University students were the heaviest users of the streaming service last year, according to DirecTV parent AT&T. More than a third of all subscribers were students.

“University students are often far from home and unable to watch their favorite hometown NFL teams,” said AT&T Entertainment Group chief marketing officer David Christopher in a statement. “With NFLSUNDAYTICKET.TV U, we’re connecting them to their home and team.”

DirecTV will continue to offer NFLSUNDAYTICKET.TV and NFLSUNDAYTICKET.TV MAX to residents who live in apartments, condos or townhomes in the U.S. where DirecTV service is not available.

Nearly anyone living in a single family home that can’t connect to a DirecTV satellite is also eligible for the streaming service, which then allows customers to stream every live, out-of-market regular season NFL game, every Sunday afternoon, virtually anywhere they are.

NFLSUNDAYTICKET.TV U and NFLSUNDAYTICKET.TV MAX includes access to the Red Zone Channel and DirecTV Fantasy Zone Channel.

The streaming service is now available on Apple TV (4th generation tvOS version only) this season for all NFLSUNDAYTICKET.TV subscribers in addition to its continued availability on Xbox One and 360, PlayStation 3 and 4, and Chromecast. NFLSUNDAYTICKET.TV starts at $49.99/month for 4 months.

Live NFL SUNDAY TICKET games start Sunday, Sept. 11, at 1 p.m. ET.  Games on Saturday, Dec. 24, will be included in NFLSUNDAYTICKET.TV.
