DirecTV To Air Civil Rights Documentary
DirecTV Monday will premiere on its Audience Network a documentary about the life of Dr. Martin Luther King and the Civil Rights movement as part of its recognition of Black History Month.
The documentary, More Than A Dream, is narrated by Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winner Martin Sheen and features first-hand accounts from civil rights leaders who worked alongside Dr. King and provides a never-before-seen look at the Civil Rights Movement in the U.S., said network officials.
In addition to its airing on DirecTV, the documentary will be made available to 8,000 schools across the country will be able to view it as part of the "DirecTV Goes To School" program.

"This documentary will not only engage our customers, but will also help resource-constrained teachers provide their students, our future leaders, with an inside look at the legendary work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr."
DirecTv will also partner with Discovery Education to provide teachers and students across the country access to a comprehensive online portal to enhance the education experience of More Than A Dream.
Classrooms will have access to a variety of resources on a Discovery Education site that goes live at 5 p.m. on Tuesday (Feb. 14) to provoke an active and thoughtful dialogue with students on the Civil Rights Movement and Dr. King's life and legacy. These resources, aligned to national standards, include a chaptered version of the documentary for classroom use with corresponding teacher guides.
