Charter Communications said Tuesday that Nathaniel Davis has resigned from its board of directors, effectively immediately, because of health reasons.
Davis, owner of RANND Advisory Group and the former president and chief operating officer of XO Communications, joined Charter’s board in 2005.
Davis is the second Charter board member to resign in less than one week. On Dec. 5, former Falcon Communications chairman Marc Nathanson resigned from the Charter board for personal reasons.
“Nate has been a leader in the telecommunications industry for nearly 35 years, and the company has benefited greatly from his strategic insight,” Charter chairman Paul Allen said in a statement. “On behalf of the board, I thank Nate for his valuable service and his many contributions.”
Davis’s position on the board will not be replaced.
In a statement, Davis said that he was unable to dedicate the appropriate amount of time to Charter’s board going forward due to personal health reasons.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as a director of Charter and to have worked with Paul Allen, [CEO] Neil Smit, and my fellow board members,” Davis said in a statement. “I wish Charter and its talented employees great success for the future.”
