CTAM Summit Session To Tackle Convergence

Cable executives and their counterparts from other technology and service companies will share their thoughts on competition, convergence and the importance of cross-platform collaboration during a session at the CTAM Summit Nov. 9-11 in Boston.

Titled “Your Television is Ringing: The Value of Cross Platform,” the session will feature an open discussion on how so-called service “disruptors” and cable operators have “dramatically changed their competitive strategies to become business collaborators,” CTAM officials said Thursday.

The session will be moderated by David Gregg, co-founder of BehindTheBuy.com and a regular reviewer on CBS’s The Early Show.

Maura Fox, group vice president, Time Warner Cable—New York City Region and Charlie Herrin, senior vice president, product development at Comcast Interactive Media, Comcast will set the stage with candid views on how cable companies are embracing the wants and needs of consumers with multi-platform offerings while still working to maintain a competitive edge.

In response, David Sandford, vice president, marketing and product development, TiVo Inc. and Jason Krikorian, co-founder and executive vice president of business development at SlingMedia will discuss how technological advances and cross-platform innovation benefit their businesses, cable companies and consumers.
